Starting an Online Business

I have no idea on how to start a successful online business. I have never done it before. I have no experience. But what I am learning now in my business course is that one must be smart about it. You can’t just expect to meander through without an idea and a plan. One, you must chose a product (ideally one you are passionate about) that people will be interested in. Two, you want to have a consistency in that interest to have a solid foundation. And third, the lower the competition, the better. Once you have decided on which product or service to offer, you need to find or create a business model that fits well with it. There are so many different business models out there and there really isn’t just one that is perfect for everything. Each kind of business deals with different products or services with their own set of unique challenges. For example, a business that sells organic olive oil from Italy is going to have its own distinctive challenges compared to those who sell tractor engines. Each would most likely need different business models. So yes, you must be smart about what you choose as your product or service and your plan to carry it through. That is the beginning of success.
